Carr Christmas Communiqué
2016
What a
fun-filled 2016 we’ve had in Baltimore! We’ve made great friends here but
missed all our friends and family far away!
Jade turned 6 in the summer! She started first grade and
continues to excel in school. Her favorite subject is Math. But she also loves
reading and French! We love going to her parent-teacher conference and hearing
her teacher brag about her. She finished ballet and gymnastics in the spring
and started taking swimming lessons at the same swim school where Michael
Phelps learned! She’s becoming quite a little swimmer. She sold the most Girl
Scout cookies in her troop this fall (thanks to all the nurses on John’s unit
being big cookie addicts). She’s lost her two front teeth and five in total.
She loves playing board games and Legos.
Jack is turning 4 the end of February. He’s doing joy school
with two of his favorite friends. He loves cars, trains, superheroes, blocks,
and his toy kitchen. Lately, he’s really into play dough and slime. He loves
riding his bike and scooter outside. He also loves the swings on our
playground. He loves going to the zoo, the aquarium, the parks, and the science
center with mommy. His favorite food is ketchup, with grilled cheese sandwiches
on the side.
John has been working as a Psych Nurse at Johns Hopkins
Hospital for a year. He loves his job and his coworkers. He discovered this
beautiful running trail in the woods close to our house, and he’s been running
a lot instead of biking. He misses the mountains and mountain biking, but he’s
also enjoying the beautiful trees and parks in the east.
Sherry continues to be busy with the kids and keeping our
house in order. She’s still teaching online classes for BYU Idaho and loves it.
She enjoys volunteering at Jade’s school and spending more one-on-one time with
Jack. She still loves cooking and finds creative ways to make nutritious meals
for our family. One big event for Sherry this year is she started an online
pearl shop with one of her childhood friends. They get their natural pearls
from pearl farms near her hometown in China and make them into beautiful
necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Her business has been doing well and
continues to grow. Her shop is named XYPearls, and you can find it on Etsy.com J
2017 is going to be a year of change for us, with lots of
unknowns and possibilities. We are excited and will keep you updated!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Love,
John, Sherry, Jade & Jack Carr
