Larriland Farm

I grew up in the country side and was always surrounded by crop fields and produce gardens. It's hard work in the field and my parents had always warned me that if I didn't study hard in school, I'd end up being a farmer. I didn't quite like the work then, but looking back, that hard work had shaped my personality and made me who I am today. 

Some of my best childhood memories include picking and eating apples, peaches, and plums under trees in the orchard, catching grass hoppers and cicadas, etc. I hope we'll be able to provide our kids with many opportunities to experience Mother Nature and learn about the hard work and fun that comes with nurturing and harvesting. 

Picking at Larriland Farm sort of gave them a little taste of that. We ended up with a box of tomatoes and peaches and some blackberries. We made jam, chili, and filled our freezer. It's fun. 

Lots of Riding

We got a few new riding toys for the kids lately. While daddy's on vacation, we've been practicing a lot of riding, bikes, scooters, and mini-coopers. So fun!

Baugher's Farm

Today we went to a local farm Baugher's to pick peaches and tomatoes. Unfortunately they only allow picking on the weekends :-( Fortunately they have a petting zoo that's open. So we went to the zoo and bought some fresh peaches and tomatoes at the market there. It was a fun day!

Beauty

Sometimes I'm amazed at how beautiful jade is. She put on the dress she got from Naisi for her birthday and was pretending she was a bride:) I wonder if she's sitting there dreaming about her wedding already:) Stop growing, sweetie!

Probably her favorite birthday gift is from Megan: her own little guitar. She's a natural when it comes to music and instruments.

Daddy took her to Arby's and ordered all of her favorite things: cheese sticks, an orange smoothie, a ham and cheese burger, and a lemonade. 

The best thing is aunt Naisi came to visit on Jade's birthday weekend. Mommy's freezer was full of yummy Chinese food when Naisi left.

The big girl bike. I have it on video that she actually cried, threw herself on the floor and yelled, "" I wanted a scooter, not a bike!" She got excited after she got over the scooter thing. I think she wanted a scooter because her friend Ivy has one.
