Jade loves reading with mommy after bath before bed. My college roommate, also my best friend Julia sent me some Chinese baby books from China. So we've been reading those. We'll have to get her some English books to read as well.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

It's been a great Thanksgiving, not just because I can start putting up the Christmas tree and listening to Christmas music, but also because I have so much to be grateful for.

I'm grateful for our parents who love and support us without any reservation;

I'm grateful for both of our Jobs that provide for our daily needs;

I'm grateful for the good health all three of us are blessed with;

I'm grateful for Megan who loves Jade so much and takes such good care of her;

I'm grateful for my brother Elder Li, who's returning soon with glory;

I'm grateful for technology that allows my families in China to see Jade any time;

I'm grateful for our car that runs great and doesn't cause us problems;

I'm grateful for our friends who make our life more enjoyable.

We planned to go to New Harmony for Thanksgiving. But the blizzard, which disappointedly passed us by, only leaving the COLDness behind, kept us in Provo. We were disappointed about not spending Thanksgiving with mom and Paul, but also glad we didn't have to fight the cold weather.

On Wednesday night, the Hardings took us to Golden Corral for Thanksgiving dinner. We dropped off Megan and Jade in the mall and had a fun night with the Hardings and their grand children.

Since we are staying in Provo, we invited Megan, Neil, Michael and Sarah to join us for the Thanksgiving dinner.

The storm only left the mountain tops white.

We only had less than 24 hours to prepare the Thanksgiving meal. But it turned out great.

While we were eating, Miss Jade was rocking in her swing!
After lunch, the two young couples played Majiang, John played on his computer, while Jade and I took a nap :-)

She's such a happy baby :-)

Jade the Night Owl

It's 12:26am Saturday night. I'm sitting in Jade's room waiting for her to fall asleep. She's just playing in her crib, all happy, but not tired. I don't know what we're doing wrong, but this little girl does not go to bed at 8 or 9 like all the other obedient little babies her age. She wakes up at 10 or 11 after an early evening nap and wants to play when mommy and daddy are both pooped out. Once she does fall asleep, she sleeps till 6 or 7 in the morning, wakes up to eat, and goes back to sleep till 9 or 10am, which is VERY nice for mommy, who is NOT a morning person. Now if she could continue to sleep after her 10/11 o'clock feeding, life would be SO great!

100 days 百岁

Jade is 100 days today. A big milestone!

happy birthday to me

No matter how unwelcome it is, Ms. birthday came right on time for the annual party! This is my first bday being a mother. It makes me appreciate my mother so much more. Megan came over to babysit. John took me to work and bought me some surprise bday gift in the mall. After work, John and I went to Tucano's where we ate a lot of meat :-)

I love the boots John got me. They look great, walk great, and even smell great (genuine leather) :-)

I also love the gigantic gift bag they came in :-) Thanks, honey, for buying me my 1st pair of expensive boots :-)
