Spring Festival Play Date

This year, we missed having all our Utah friends over for the Chinese New Year party. Instead, I invited all my preschool families over for a hotpot lunch. The kids had fun playing, making paper lanterns, learning to say Happy New Year in Chinese, getting a red pocket, and watching the CCTV Gala show. They even tried the hotpot fixings. The moms loved the hotpot. They are so great. They ate everything and seemed to love everything :-) Now I have my hotpot buddies.
Happy Chinese New Year!

Year of Sheep 2015

Had a little photoshoot with the kids before dinner. Jack wasn't interested. Jade would do anything to play pretend. She thinks she's a Chinese princess, and I'm her photographer. She had fun :-)
We hang up all our Chinese decorations this afternoon. Jade and I are going to do some cleaning this week, and then we're ready for Spring Festival!

Jack's Allergy Test

We got referred to take Jack to see an allergy specialist. We knew he's probably allergic to peanuts with his two previous experiences. We wanted to find out what else he's allergic to. He doesn't like bread. We thought maybe he doesn't take wheat well.

They did all the food allergy tests on his back. They used some pointe little brushes with different foods to see which react. Turned out he's only allergic to peanuts, a little allergic to other nuts, but not allergic at all to wheat, dairy, eggs, or she'll fish. Yay!! So now we know he can never have peanuts or any peanut related products. Poor thing. Luckily we don't eat that much peanut stuff in our house. He got some junior epi pens that he has to carry probably his whole life.

Loved the doctor. He's a very friendly and knowledgeable Indian guy. It was a very pleasant visit, so pleasant that daddy decided to go and get tested as well :)
