BreadwinneR

Here's to celebrate that I'm no longer the breadwinner of the household. John got a job with Nuskin. It's even a job he likes. The schedule is perfect for us for the moment. Jade's up. I'll have to finish this post later :-)

...... 10 days later...

Wow it's been 10 days since I started this blog entry. I've been wanting to finish it and never had time. It's another proof how a baby ties you up. When she's sleeping, I've got soooo much to do and I often find myself debating whether to do all my chores or take a nap or catch up with my Asian dramas. I usually end up watching my dramas while doing chores. It's amazing how watching dramas relax me :-) It must be an Asian thing.

Ok, back to John's new job at Nuskin. He works a couple night shifts and 2 day shifts, so it works out for us nicely. When both of us are gone, Megan takes care of Jade since she only has evening classes this semester. She's such a blessing for us. She's great with Jade, she loves Jade and Jade loves being with her. Because of her, I'm able to still cook and clean and take a break. I don't know what I'm gonna do when she leaves for school out of state. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that she'll be accepted at BYU.

Another good thing about this Nuskin job is the benefit. Besides the usual insurance and stuff, I get free Nuskin products every month. So if any of you need skin care or vitamins, give me a call. I'll get them for you:-)

Life is hectic sometimes. When Jade is cranky and fussy at night, when I have to rock her and walk her around with a broken back and sleepy eyes, it's not fun. But when Jade smiles at me, everything is worth it! It's amazing how her sweet smiles sweep away all my complaints so fast.

We love our baby and we love our life. We're grateful for family and friends, especially for Megan who's so willing to help and so loving to Jade.

Happy General Conference!!

Sleeps like an angel!

Hanging with Megan Yiyi (Chinese for auntie)

This year for Mid-autumn Festival, we did Chinese hotpot.
These are some of the dishes we hotpotted (I coined this word). There are more. Our table is too small. John was like, "this is for the 4 of us? Holy moly!" Hey we're Chinese. We eat A LOT!

Just some pictures of beautiful Jade

Sleeping Jade

Jade goes to sleep fairly easy. No fuss at all at night. Mommy has to try hard to keep her awake for a full feeding. During the day, she fusses a little bit. She usually goes to sleep quick if she's rocked either in your arm, on the rocking chair, or in her car seat.

She likes her face buried in her blanket. (Note the cute little curl on her head :-))

This is her favorite sleeping position: have her head hanging in the air :-)
On our way to Cascade Springs on Saturday, she wouldn't stop crying in the car seat, so daddy had to pool over and swing her.

Jade, remember how much daddy loves you, okay?

Jade's 5 weeks old!-Last weekly update

Jade is over a month old now!! She still eats and sleeps well, except the 9pm-11pm time slot. She eats every 4 hours and it takes her 30 minutes to an hour to eat every time. Mommy is still afflicted with the clogged milk ducts every once in a while. We think it's because my body produces more milk than Jade could eat. So every time after Jade eats, I have to pump the rest of the milk out, and put a cold pack on for 10 minutes. It's such an ordeal. I want my already limited sleep. I hope the milk will be regulated soon.

I still miss Jade's smiling moments on camera. But here's a better one.

Jade has some strong long legs. She likes to stand with daddy's help. It's cute :-)

Daddy also likes to play tummy time with Jade.

Jade likes sleeping on Sister Rowe's rocking chair.

the many faces of Jade Li

I love staring at Jade as she makes different faces. I could stare at her all day long :-)

She has just started to smile; genuine or not, it's WAY cute. She only smiles after she just finishes eating :-) I'm always too slow to catch it on camera.
