Jade's 1st accident

 It's April 29th, and there's a blizzard outside. I hate Utah!!
Yesterday it was nice and sunny outside and jade and i played outside in the grass on the playground. We had so much fun!!

Jade had so much fun crawling on the grass, standing up against the bench, and "talking to the kids" on the playground. But because of this wooden bench...

this happened!! She got 2 splinters in her right palm. Sad thing is I didn't even notice it until I was feeding her today. Such a tough little girl. She didn't cry at all. I almost did though :-(

John was at work and I didn't know what to do, so I called him for help. He came home to the rescue, only to find the tweezer with a magnifying glass on was missing. So auntie Megan and I went to the store to get another one, but no store carried that kind. In the end, we got a regular tweezer and a magnifying glass separately. we took Jade to John's work and he got the splinters out! Yay for daddy!!! I can never be a nurse.

We thought she was going to scream, but nope, she did great. No tears at all. What a tough little cookie!!

Then we got home and put some Neosporin on and wrapped it up in some gauze before she went to bed.

My parents happened to be online tonight and saw her hands all bandaged up. They were so sad :-( I assured them she's okay :-)

Jade's booster seat

John hates the look of a regular high chair, but the ones he;s interested in are a lot more expensive and we aren't sure whether Jade is even going to like it or not. So we got her this booster seat to see how she likes it. And as you can see already, she LOVEs it!!

This is the 1st picture i captured that shows her top two teeth :-) Cute!!
 LOVE those chubby hands. ADORABLE!!!

A typical April day in the Carr family

Jade's been gong to bed before 8pm for a few weeks now; John's working the swing shift for a couple months; and I am left with all this free time in the evening :-) Now I can clean, relax, cook, blog, sort out my pictures, talk to family and friends, watch TV, watch drama, and even take a nap :-) It's nice.

John's been crazy about biking lately ever since he got his cool mountain bike. He's been biking with Mark and Dave regularly back and forth the canyons. In fact he's riding with Dave tomorrow morning at 8. Now considering how much John hates getting up before...let's say 10, this shows dedication :-) It's awesome that he LOVEs it, not awesome that he's spending more money than I'd like him to getting all these accessories :-(

This is what he looked like when he came back from the canyons up in Sandy with Mark.

Jade and mommy go to the mall for walks often. And  we enjoy window shopping and taking pictures.
Aren't those shoes yummy? :-) Too bad I have to stand for work. They would make great corporal punishment tools if we were in China :-)

Mommy enjoys making new foods for daddy and Jade. These are the sweet potato pancakes mommy made for Naisi before she left for Shanghai.
Jade loves bananas, squash, apples,  pears and sweet potatoes. Not too fond on peas.

We've been enjoying crepes, (recipe courtesy of Alton Brown) because sister Harding taught me how to make yummy strawberry jam.

One of the cute things jade does is dancing to the music on our phones. Whenever we turn the music on, she would get super excited, shake her little body and wave her hands. It's the cutest thing EVER!

First time eating sweet potatoes. Loves it!!

jade's new tricks #2

We LOVE to watch jade grow and learn new tricks every day. At 8.5 months, she's eating solids three times a day, crawls everywhere, tries to walk all the time with the help of walls and tables; she even figured out how to climb up the stairs all by herself!!

#1. She started going to bed at 8!!!! OMG can we tell you how happy we are?!! We actually have our life back!!! The first night she did that, we didn't know what to do with our free time :-) We ended up watching a movie In the Next Three Days. It was AWESOME!! She's been doing that for a couple weeks now and we've been so busy enjoying our evenings. Thanks to Megan who stays home with her, we were able to have date nights with Mark and Callie a few times, go out to eat Chinese,  have Fondu and Majiang night at home and go to Naisi's brother's baptism :-)

Sub Zero is awesome!! We went there after having a wing-eating competition at the best wing place in Springville. It was a tie, mostly because we ran out of money before stomach space :-)
Mark and Callie are getting addicted to Majiang!
Cheese Fondu is great. We did a chocolate one a few days ago, which is even better :-) John got me a surprise gift: a Chinese fondu pot!!

#2. Mommy and Jade loves going to the mall and walk around everyday since mommy's on a break from school!!
#3. All of a sudden, jade has 4 teeth!! We were expecting the bottom 2 to come out first and we kept checking, but one morning John noticed the top 2 already came out!! It didn't bother her at all, thank goodness. But one of the bottom two seemed to bother her a little more. Beside Baby Orajel, daddy got all the teething toys off Amazon. Such a spoiled little princess. Her favorite is this raspberry binki :-)

#4. Solids. We are so blessed to have a baby that eats everything. So far, she's had bananas, carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and  apples. Her fav is mashed bananas. Mommy's too slow for her at feeding :-)
Jade's first meal: carrot is in cooking :-) I love Babycook!
First time eating solids-carrots!

#5: She somehow learned to do this fish lip and she does it ALL the time now. John actually took some good pictures with the good camera. I'll have to make a separate post for it. It's so cute.

#6. She usually doesn't sit still while getting her nails cut. But this time she's actually enjoying it because daddy's doing a good job distracting her.

We love you, sweetheart!!
