Memorial Day 2013 Part 1: Sundance Race Day

Daddy participated in the Sundance Race this year. Here's a few words from his facebook :-) 

"The race was fun. The guy behind me caught up to me and passed me toward the top. Sadly I was faster than him in the bottom section... and then he crashed in front of me and ruined both our times. But it was fun anyway."

Jade and I went to cheer him on. Jack stayed home with auntie Megan, which was a great thing. I couldn't have managed two. We had to climb up the mountain for quite a bit to get a good view. Jade had fun playing on the mountain and in the little creek. She was very patient waiting for daddy to come down the hill. 

Daddy finished 15th out of 40.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to me!

Being a mother has made me a better daughter because I have a new understanding of motherhood and the love and sacrifice it entails. It makes me respect and my own mother so much more.

Thanks to mom, I got a fancy bread machine. I've already made a loaf of whole wheat bread and a loaf of raisin bread. They are yummy.

Jade wore her beautiful Chinese QiPao to church. We started our watermelon season with a gigantic watermelon!

Swing swing swing

Jade loves the swing. If she has it her way, she never wants to get off. She loves to observe the older kids doing tricks on the swing. She's just learned to stand up. She thinks its pretty awesome. She's still working on jumping on the swing herself.

Hello Merida!

Jade found a broken hanger in the closet and told me,"mommy, look, it's a bow. I'm Merida!" Then she insisted on taking it to the store with her and showed everyone she's Merida:) so cute!
