A day with mommy VS A day with daddy

On a typical day with mommy, jade cooks, eats, beautifies, and plays where it's usually clean and warm (i.e the mall). On a typical day with daddy, jade plays in the mud and bikes with daddy in the mountains. 

I'll admit. Daddy's a lot more fun :-)

Happy March☀

Jade and mommy had a great weekend. It was nice and sunny and we spent a lot of time playing outside. We wish daddy didn't have to work on the weekends. At least we have Friday to spend together. Mommy made a bowl of wasabi spinach and Jade had her first encounter with wasabi. She seemed to enjoy it. Oh I just had a good idea. Daddy hates spinach but loves wasabi, maybe we should have daddy try it sometime.Mommy also found a new Chinese marinade, so we grilled chicken wings. They are delish!

Jade saw auntie Megan using a tweezer and decided she needed to trim her lips as well. It cracked me up to see her burying her whole face in the mirror.

We walked around in the mall and tried on different clothes and hair accessories. She could tolerate a hairband for probably 5 seconds. Mommy had to be really fast to sneak a picture.

This is the 3rd time jade has ridden the train in the mall and the 1st time she actually got excited. She's in the mall frequent enough that the train girl knows her and let her ride it for free. Cute girls get things for free. I now believe it :-) Jade waved and said hello to everyone on the way. It was fun to watch her. She also had a great time on the mini car.

So back when it was so cold and snowy, jade would NOT wear her hat and gloves. Now that it's sunny and warm, she HAS TO put on her hat and gloves to go out. Such a funny kid. She loved walking around the complex picking up rocks and cigaret butts. She also loved going down the slide holding hand with mommy. But only for a few times. Then she got independent and wouldn't let me hold her hand any more.

Jade feels too big for the small bike now. She wants to ride the big bike, but her legs are not quite long enough. She still manages to have some fun though :-)

While we were playing outside, jade wanted to go play in daddy's truck, but the doors were locked. So mommy came up with a great idea and put jade in the back of the truck. She loved that!

New kitchen toy

John got me an indoor grill pan (upon my request) for Valentine' Day. I've been fully enjoying it. It makes our dinner menu more versatile and delicious! I've grilled chicken, veggies, tofu, steak and other little things on it. It's also quick so I don't have to spend a lot of time laboring in the kitchen. I think john's been enjoying it as well. Smart buy, honey!

Jade's 2nd haircut

Mommy gave jade her 2nd haircut a couple days ago when jade took her bath. Daddy thinks it was a disaster and told mommy never to cut it again. I think she looks cute:)

02/29/2012 Leap Day

This is the first leap day we've had as a family, so I thought I'd document it:)

Mommy and daddy both had to work today.

Jade is home with auntie Megan and uncle Neil.

It snowed.

Mommy got paid.

Mommy had chili cook off at work and almost died of a bite of habernaro chili.

We ate pork steak for dinner.

Jade was too hungry to wait for dinner so mommy made her a quick omelet and she ate most of it.

Daddy tricked one of his coworkers to believe you were supposed to wear yellow and blue on leap day.

Daddy had Philly cheese steak sandwich for lunch.

Jade had her first diaper rash:( hopefully it'll go away by tomorrow.

Jade has her 18 month appointment tomorrow.

Right now jade and mommy are sitting in bed watching qiaohu. Daddy's playing games with his friend. He's in the bedroom as well because kevin took his office.

Ok time for jade to go night night. We'll say a family prayer and read some books:)

Weekend

I work every other Friday and this Friday is my day off. So jade had both mommy and daddy playing with her. The sun is even nice and big and it was so warm outside. We played on the swing, on the grass, running around all day. Jade made friends with a neighbor's puppy. I would love to get her a puppy seeing how much she loves animals, but I don't want to take care of a dog. So she'll get one when she's old enough to take care of it, maybe. 

The above picture didn't quite catch the excitement when jade sees an airplane. She would point and yell Fei (Feiji means airplane in Chinese, but she only says the Fei part).

She is a lot more adventurous on the swing now. She loves when daddy gives her a big push. She would ask daddy to Pu (push). And she would giggle and laugh like she's the happiest girl on earth, and she probably is.

Daddy did pull-ups while jade was swinging. I think he did 30? Yeah. He's getting some big arm muscles. Getting ready for the biking season!
