I've been on vacation since last Thursday and I've been sick at home since that same day :-( It started with a sore throat, and then a stuffy nose, and then fever and weakness. I'm slowly getting over it, especially after John took me on a nice walk around the Provo Temple this afternoon.
For the last day of school, my classes had parties. One class doesn't get along very well. They are divided into two groups: the Russians and the anti-Russians. So only the anti group came for the party. I guess they don't want to be together if they don't have to :-) We had some food, took some pictures, and one class made a video of people that slept in class throughout the semester, which turned out to be EVERYONE in EVERY class! It was quite entertaining.
Besides sleeping, drinking water, blowing my nose, crying over chick-flicks, I also made some Chinese and Korean food to entertain myself. I successfully made Chinese steam bread and Korean glazed potatoes (Gamjia Jorim). Everything turned out great.
I remember my mom used to make steamed buns with brown sugar stuffing inside. I loved those. They were always the highlight of my day :-) So I was quite proud to tell my mom about my new achievement :-)
We're going to Vagas, the Grand Canyon, Southern UT for a week with my cousin. Hope the weather cooperates!
Good job on the Jorim and the Steam Buns. Hope you get better before you head south. Hope the Grand Canyon is open. You might want to check.
ReplyDeleteWe went one March to the North Side only to get 10 minutes from it and come across a sign that said "GRAND CANYON CLOSED" Apparently they cover the whole thing up with a tarp a couple of months out the year:)
That was March so maybe you'll make it for the grand re-opening.
