Happy Moon Cake Festival!

We made dumplings and baozi for the festival. The baozi didn't turnout very well, but it's my first attempt. I've learned lessons to make it better next time:)

Baby #2 Coming February 2013

We found out we were expecting again the end of June. We went to the doctor's for an ultrasound at week 10 and was told the due date would be Feb 27, 2013. John did some calculation and figured out we had the baby in Hawaii. So officially both of our kids have been to Hawaii before the age of two :-)

We are excited. So far the only effect is our ING saving account named New Living Room has a different name now. It's called New Baby:)

We will find out the gender next Monday. Stay tuned.

Fall Colors in South Fork

We made it up into the mountains early enough this year to catch some good colors. We used to go conference weekend, but we've missed the good colors.  We got some fun pictures of Jade and one decent one of the whole family.
Jade almost never strikes a pose. Its always so much work to get her to look at the camera and smile at the same time :P
We asked Jade to run up to the tree and she started doing laps back and forth while giggling :)
Daddy and Jade in a tree :)
My two? cuties. (Daddy, two is correct. I don't think the other one is cute right now:-))

Watermelon Love

We are going to miss the watermelons. We've had it at our house everyday for the summer. With fall approaching, we'll slowly cut down on it. I know jade will surely miss it!

Watermelon, until next summer!

Chocolate Cupcake

Our neighbor girl had a little birthday party. All kids were invited to have a cupcake. Jade was so excited and so messy! She had a good time with the cupcake:)

BYU Creamery

On Saturday we took jade to the Bee museum at BYU, only to discover that it's closed till 2013. We talked it up so much that jade was really let down. So we took her to the Creamery to have some ice cream to make it up.

She had fun experimenting with her ice cream. She put salt and pepper in it and liked it:)

So cute:)

Labor Day Weekend

We loaded up six people in a truck that seats five and headed down to visit my parents for Labor Day.

We stopped for a break in Scipio and they happen to have a petting zoo.

Tinkerbell was happy to have company.

We found a patch of elder berry bushes on our off road adventure. We picked a bunch with a plan to make a pie... I was excited.

We found a fun dirt road that goes from just north of Kanaraville, over the mountains, to the Kolob Reservoir.

The pie was amazing!  This needs to become a tradition :-)

Jade was going to take a shower, but then wound up just filling this big bucket and playing. I think she'd still be in there playing if we didn't drag her out.

A Little Outing to Bridal Falls

I took Jade on a bike ride up to the falls and she had so much fun. She wanted to climb up the falls and splash around in the shallow part all day. She was so sad to leave that I decided we would all go up and play that weekend. She wasn't as adventurous the second time. Maybe because Mommy was there :-)

Jade Recently

Here are some happenings with Jade lately.

1. She's been having a hard time going to bed since we switched her to her toddler bed. She has to be held to fall asleep. Otherwise she'll stand at the door and scream for mommy and daddy.

2. Daddy got a video camera monitor for Jade's bed. Now I can watch her room anywhere there's Wi-Fi. It's fun to watch her go down for a nap at work. It's also fun to see what she does in her room when we put her down for naps and the night.

3. Jade's been having pronoun confusions, mostly with you and I. She would ask me, "mommy, where's your daddy?" Or, "Daddy, where;s your mommy?" She says things like, "mommy, help you!".

4. Her language has been developing so fast. She's been absorbing everything we say to her, and now she seems to be reproducing everything, in good context. We really need to pay attention to what we say now. She would say, "mommy, I'm so funny." "I'm a good helper." "Good job, Jade!" Good thing we've been positive to her :-)

5. It's fun to watch her slowing figuring out her two languages. She would say, "mommy says Putao, daddy says grapes." Here's a fun little story of her bilingualism. The Chinese for apple is Ping Guo, but jade always calls it Pi Gu, which means butt. I tried to fix it for her a few times, and she got tired and told me off. Mommy, it's apple, ok? :-) Haha funny kids.

Its not totally obvious, but she fell asleep with her feet on her bed and her head down on the stuffed zebra on the floor. I decided not to let her sleep like that all night :-)
