We took a little trip to Ocean City/Assategue Island this weekend... and the Atlantic General Hospital ER. One wrong move in a dangerous game of "jump around the hotel room" and a couple of Jack's lower teeth cut into his lip. One broke through the skin just below the lip and we had to go get it glued back together. He fell asleep on the way to the hospital and slept through the whole thing.
The on call nurse practitioner there said it's common for kids to fall asleep after trauma, but not common for them to sleep through the exam and treatment. I guess he was really tired!
He woke up the next day as if nothing happened. His lips and gum healed up in a couple of days without any medication. What a resilient boy!
