Cool pictures and new habits

Daddy got mommy a new camera app on the phone. Mommy had fun playing around:)

Since jade was sick, she's developed some presleeping habits. She has to watch Qiaohu on my computer in my bed, and she also has to look at all her pictures and videos on my iPhone in my bed. More than once!! Otherwise she throws tantrums in her crib and yells at us.

She decided she doesn't like milk any more. So she stopped drinking milk in the morning and at night. Instead, she eats graham crackers and milk (must be genetic). She loves sitting (mostly squatting) on the counter and eat. Daddy's afraid she's not getting enough fat to grow her brain, so he's constantly looking for fattening food to feed jade. So far, not much success. She only loves fruits and tofu, not even meat. Hopefully she'll grow to love some fattening things.

But she's still chubby and cute!

Jade on the Carousel

Jade has been on the carousel three times. She hated it the first time and loved it the last two. I guess she's overcome her fear and decided to enjoy the ride:) she still looks nervous at times but she is smiling and waiving most of the time now:)

Jade, you're so lucky to have a carousel a couple blocks from our house and you got to ride it when you were only 18 months. Mommy didn't get to ride one until she was 28 probably!

Happy jade is back!

After a dreadful week, jade recovered from her sickness and is back to her normal happy self again!!Oh how we've missed her smile.
Don't you just love her curly hair? So pretty!!!
To celebrate, daddy took jade to TJMax and got her like 5 new outfits. This is one of them. Mommy had to take a couple back because they don't fit.
I told her to be cute for the camera and this is what she did! Oh and if you want to take pictures of her, put her on the coffee table and she'll pose for you!! Haha... I love my jade :-)

While jade was sick...

Jade was sick for over a week. First we thought she was teething, but then her fever reached 102 while daddy was at work on Saturday. On top of the fever, she also had a nasty canker sore on her tongue.

While she was sick, she kept doing pull-ups with daddy. We're very impressed with how strong she pulls. She really tries to pull herself up.

While she was sick, she slept with us on our big bed because she'd wake up every few hours and scream. We had to give her meds and pat her back to sleep. She would only sleep on top of us. She was very cuddly. I guess that's the only good thing about her being sick: she cuddles.
While she was sick, she slept in our bed and took possession of mommy's computer. Now that she's not sick, she still has to watch Qiaohu on the big bed before going to her own crib.
While jade was sick, Valentine's day happened. Mommy held sick jade in her arms and slept the evening away. Daddy got mommy a nice bouquet of flowers and a surprise gift that came a couple days later.

OMG jade's hair is sooooooo pretty!!! Curly and highlighted! Jealous!!!!!!!!

Cool food

Mommy made these cool food in order to feed daddy vegetables. But mommy and jade ate most of them. This is dumplings made from scratch. Mommy mixed carrots, red cabbage, and spinach in the flour dough to make the wrappers. They are yummy to the tummy and the eyes :-)

Mommy made the leftover dough into noodles. They are yummy, too.

Mommy made these sticky rice balls with red bean paste fillings for the Lantern Festival. Daddy hates them because they stick to his teeth. Again mommy and jade ate most of them :-)
Can you tell daddy is a picky eater?!:-)

January is gone!

We didn't get much snow this January.Maybe just a couple of times. Jade fully enjoyed the snow. We'd go out to the backyard and the playground and she'd walk on the snow in circles. She loves hearing the sound when her shoes touches the snow. She is a true Princess Snow White :-)

Jade loves taking her bear on the swing. She would even give the seat to her bear and just watch the bear swing! So cute! We haven't been out for a while because she's been sick on and off :-(

When she was sick, daddy had her all nice and cozy in her room, naked, watching Qiaohu. She had some virus infection in her mouth and couldn't eat. She lived on Yogurt for a few days.

Jade loves sitting in her Cow chair and read books with mommy.

She also loves making dumplings with her auntie Megan and laughing at uncle Neil making faces.

We went swimming with Danny. The water was a little cold, so jade chose to sit in the hot tub :-)
Her summer swim suits were all too small, so we had to go to Wal-mart to get her a new one. They only had Hello Kitty Bikinis out. So daddy had to swallow his hatred for Hello Kitty. Mommy was happy though :-)

Daddy got jade a swimming duck to float. She didn't enjoy it too much.

Talking about obedience. My very own massage girl :-)
Daddy took jade to see the ducks next to BYU. They were so hungry. They ate all her bread and wanted more. Jade was still kind of sick in this picture, thus the serious look on her face.

New bath toy: markers. I think daddy and mommy enjoy them more than jade.

Happy Year of Dragon!!

John did a great job decorating for the Chinese New Year this year. It was very festive in our house before our big annual New Year Party!! We love having this occasion every year to get all our friends together to catch up. The day before we had our party, we had some friends over to have some REAL Chinese hotpot with squid and everything.

Our stove doesn't get hot fast enough. So in order to cook for a big party, John got me a deep fryer :-) It made all the difference. It cooked faster and the food is a lot tastier. I fried in the garage, and the house wasn't even smoky :-)  Before the party, we had Mark and Callie over to test out the fryer. We fried doughnut, french fries, and panko avacados. Yumm!!

Oh and John got me some very Chinese dishes to put food on. They look very festive.

We were so glad to see so many of our friends and catch up with them. Jade was all dressed up for the holiday. She had two outfits, and they are both cute. She wished grandma and grandpa and everyone in China happy new year over Skype and they all wanted to give her hugs and kisses in person!

Here's the other outfit she wore. I was gonna get her a red one, but couldn't find her size. She looked so cute. The next few pictures are her dancing to the Chinese new year music :-)

Happy birthday, daddy!

For daddy's birthday this year, mommy did some things right and some things wrong.
Right: Mommy got daddy a biking book & some cool T-shirts.
Wrong: Mommy insisted on taking jade to Brick Oven. As a result we were in and out of that place within 30 minutes.
Hayley probably made it more right by making John a delicious dinner, highlighted by her famous cheesecake :-)
You're the most handsome daddy in the world! We love you!!
