a Romantic evening

John's been biking at Sundance every week. One day he called me on the lift and told me he was going to take me on a date that night for the moonlight lift.
Romantic? Definitely.
We're definitely not romantic people though. We don't usually do surprises, fun dates, or anything romantic. But every once in a while, you need to spice up your life a little bit, right? :-)
So after we put Jade to bed at 8, we left her home on Megan's watch. BTW did I mention how amazing Megan is? She's made our life so much easier even with jade around. We could just leave her home and go out to eat or do things when she's asleep, sometimes even when she's awake.
Anyway but to the date night.
We stopped by Bridal Veil Falls and enjoyed the fresh air for a few minutes.

When we got to Sundance, there was a line at the parking lot. We didn't realize it was such a big event. I guess a lot of people are romantic :-)

We were the full noon lift riders :-)

It wasn't that dark yet, so we decided to walk around to kill some time. I bought John a massage here for Father's Day. So we went to look for the massage house. Never found it. But saw this gorgeous view.

And John made out with the totem pole.

He had this cool app on his phone to show him exactly where the moon was in relation to us. So we wouldn't miss it.

Then time to ride. There were people selling hot chocolate, $3 per little cup. Ya, not that romantic.

We were expecting it to be freezing on the top, but it was actually quite nice. We didn't even need to use our blanket until I took my slippers off in fear of losing them in the mountains and my feet got cold.

Here's a proof that we did see a full moon. It looks awfully small in the picture though. It was beautiful.

By the time we came down, the line was HUGE. It was already past 11pm. Crazy people. And the shuttles were still unloading people!!
This is the line for the shuttle back to the parking lot. We had to stand in the bus. Reminded me of China. Fun!

That's it. Our little romantic outing this year :-)
