Fabulous Friday
~~Angel Face~~
There are 5 things that make this Friday fabulous for me!
1. I didn't have to wake up between 1:00am-7:30am to feed Jade.
We finally decided to start her bedtime routine and train her to fall asleep on her own. I fed her at 6:30pm last night, played with her for a while, gave her a bath, read her a storybook, wrapped her up in her blanket, turned the lullaby on, and rocked her in my rocking chair. She screamed for about 5 minutes and then fall asleep at about 8pm. John and I watched some Chuck and Lie to Me. Jade woke up at 9. I fed her, changed her diaper, and tried to rock her to sleep. She was screaming for 10 minuted before I gave her to John. John rocked her for a while and put her in her crib. She creamed for 10 minutes, calmed down and started to play in her crib by herself, then she would scream again for a little bit. John would go into her room to comfort her every 5-10 minutes. I couldn't do it. I can't leave her cry and walk out of the room. I muted the baby monitor, but every time the red flash came on, I knew she's crying and I couldn't do anything. This went on for about half an hour, but it felt like 2. Finally John gave up, went into her room, picked her up and she fell asleep in like 5 minutes. And she never woke up until 7:30 this morning! Yay!!!!
2. I didn't have to get up at 6:30am to work.
I've been working for the English Testing Service (ETS) to grade the TOEFL speaking tasks. It's been a great job because I get to stay home with Jade and make some money. I signed up for the early morning sessions this month because I thought I had to get up at 6 to feed Jade anyway. But now that Jade doesn't wake up that frequent anymore, it's a PAIN to have to wake up to an alarm at 6:30 to work!! Good thing there's only 2 days left I have to work morning shift. Starting next month, I'll do the afternoon shift. It's gonna be a lot better!
3. I didn't have to go to the ELC to tutor for a whole day.
I signed up for tutoring on Fridays from 9am-3pm at the ELC at the beginning of the semester to get some extra moeny. But I hated it because I had to pump and I would get clogged milk duct. Now that I can work from home, I quit the tutoring and it's been so great staying home for the whole Friday!
4. I get paid today! That's always fun.
5. I get to take Jade to the mall, test out her new stroller and shop for her Halloween dress :-)
The rest are just some cute pictures.
Jade snoring away in Megan's laps this morning :-)
"Mommy, don't flash me when I'm sleeping!!"
Jade loves playing with auntie Megan.
Since she's a tiger girl, she loves Tigger the Tiger:-)
She also likes watching Chinese shows with Megan.

The weekenD
Neither mommy or daddy had to work this weekend. So we had a relaxing and fun weekend.
Keywords for the weekend: sleeping in for mommy, daddy's service project with the Young Men, baby carrier, stroller, mall shopping with auntie Megan, cute dress for Jade, cute haircut for daddy, great Sunday dinner!
Jade didn't like the sling I had before, so we decided to try this baby carrier. Mommy and auntie Megan took Jade shopping in the mall. She loved it! Even took a little nap in it while mommy got auntie some cute clothes. hanging out with auntie Megan
While daddy was shopping for a stroller at Baby R Us, mommy had to pick some cute dresses for Jade. Here's one of them. Jade wore this to church today and everybody thought she was a doll :-) Love how she had her hand like she's shooting a gun :-)
Daddy even took a Sunday nap with Jade, well not with Jade, when Jade was napping.
Still loves to sleep like an eggroll
Jade loves to see daddy's funny faces and always laughs at silly daddy.
Mommy and Jade right after church. We had uncle Neil and Auntie Megan over for Sunday dinner. Mommy made bbq ribs, mashed potatoes, soy bean pots, and some vegie stir-fry. It was so yummy Jade jumped on the table to try some.
Mommy, "Sweetie, we don't stand on tables to eat."
Jade, " but mommy, daddy said I could..."
Here's our fancy built-in projector screen. Mommy and daddy watched Peter Pan after dinner.

Jade's 2 months appointment
Mommy and auntie Megan took Jade in for her 2 months appointment exactly on her 2 months mark (Oct 5, 2010). Jade's growing steadily and is a very healthy girl. She's still very tall and she's gained a couple pounds. Here's the stats:
Weight:
Length:
There are a couple things that make me decide not to go back to Utah Valley Pediatrics any more.
1. The wait. I hate waiting, period. I know it's a virtue that I need to work on, but I don't want to yet. I go crazy if I had to wait for more than 10 minutes.
2. They didn't warn me about the after effect of the vaccine shots. Hello!! New parents here!!! It was hard to see my baby girl getting those 2 nasty shots, one of which hurt A LOT I heard. Jade screamed for a couple minutes. I comforted her for a while and as soon as I put her in the car seat and walked out of the clinic, she fell asleep. The nurse didn't warn me at all about the aftermath of the shots. After we got home in the evenings, Jade just wouldn't stop crying, and it was a different cry, one that I've never heard before, so I figure she's in pain. John took her temperature and found out she's running a fever. John held her for a long time and got her to sleep. But very time he moved a little bit, she's wake up and scream. I finally called the after hour clinic, and they told me to take her in. So we did. The doctor there was really nice. He checked Jade all over again, gave her some baby Tylenol, told us a few things to watch for, and sent us home. With the Tylenol, Jade was able to fall asleep and when she woke up the next morning, she was all better and happy again!
We got so bored waiting we started taking pictures to entertain ourselves. One funny thing: When the doctor came in and put her on her tummy, she held her head up and saw herself in the mirror and she had this HUGE smile on her face oh it was so cute. All three adults started laughing. The doctor commented she'd never seen a baby so happy seeing herself in the mirror before :-)
These pictures were taken the same week of the appointment.
Jade loves to be held by cousin Emily.
Tummy time for Jade, daddy and grandma.
Look mommy, I can hold my own Binky.
